Injectable Fillers (Hyaluronic Acid Fillers)
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers are a family of fillers used to reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles. They can help to add or restore volume in areas of the face that lack fullness. Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is found naturally in the body and therefore provides a natural looking augmentation. When administered by a trained professional, the use of HA filler is a safe option to address areas in need of improvement and are reversible if the results are not favorable. It is important to consult with a qualified injector to discuss whether HA fillers are an appropriate treatment for areas of concern and to be informed of possible risks or side effects.
Having many HA filler options helps us design non-surgical plans for each of our patients resulting in refreshed and natural looking results. Results of HA filler can be seen immediately following treatment. HA fillers degrade gradually which leads to a more natural change in appearance.
As with any filler, mild swelling and bruising may occur, however, downtime is minimal. Most patients treated with HA fillers can resume their normal activities of daily living shortly after treatment.

Injectable Filler FAQS
Should I get a filler or a wrinkle relaxer?
Both fillers and relaxers correct facial wrinkles but with different approaches. Wrinkle relaxers, like BOTOX, work to smooth dynamic wrinkles caused by repetitive muscle contractions. An injectable wrinkle filler, like Juvéderm, corrects static wrinkles by adding volume. Dermal fillers are great for improving mild to moderate lines and wrinkles or for improving volume loss in your lips, cheeks, and hands, depending on the formula.
How many treatments do I need?
Dermal fillers offer stunning outcomes, but they are a temporary solution to dynamic wrinkles and volume loss. With that being said, multiple treatments will be needed to help maintain your results. The number of treatments you need to preserve your appearance will depend on the product used and your specific goals. During your initial visit, talk to your injector about how often you should return to our office for touch-ups.
How long do they last?
The longevity of your results will vary, depending on which formula is used, where it is injected, and how quickly your body breaks down the filler. Some products may last 3 – 4 months while others may last as long as two years. During your consultation, your injector will create your custom treatment plan and discuss when to schedule appointments for treatments to refresh your appearance.
Can I exercise after receiving injectable fillers?
It's generally recommended to avoid strenuous exercise for at least 24 to 48 hours after receiving injectable fillers. This precaution helps prevent increased blood flow from elevating swelling and bruising at the injection sites. Light activities, such as walking, are usually fine, but it’s best to consult your injector for specific guidelines based on the areas treated and the type of filler used.
What should I do if I experience lumps or unevenness after my filler treatment?
If you notice any lumps, bumps, or unevenness after your filler treatment, it’s important to contact your injector. Most minor irregularities can resolve on their own as the filler settles and integrates with your tissue. However, your injector can evaluate the situation and may massage the area or advise you on steps to correct or manage the issue effectively.
Is there any particular skincare routine I should follow after getting fillers?
After receiving injectable fillers, following a gentle skincare routine is beneficial. Avoiding harsh skincare products and excessive rubbing or pressure on the treated areas is vital. Your injector might recommend specific products that hydrate and protect the skin without interfering with the fillers.
