A breast lift takes approximately 2 – 4 hours and is performed with the patient under general anesthesia. The timeframe of this procedure depends on the severity of breast ptosis. The surgical technique used for mastopexy surgery generally falls into two categories — the technique is defined by the nature of the incision. The inverted-T (known as an anchor) and the vertical incisions are the preferred methods. After making the incision, any wrinkly and loose skin is removed along with fat and tissue that is not wanted. The skin left behind is then pulled tight and the breasts are brought up and lifted so they look healthy and younger. In many cases, the size and shape of the areola are reconstructed and reduced to be symmetric with the new placement and shape of the breast. It is during this time an implant or a fat transfer can be placed in the breast. I had a fleur de lis tummy tuck with abdominal muscle repair, mons lift, and a breast lift with augmentation all done in the same surgery by Dr. Higgins. First, my results are incredible. He removed all of the loose skin from my 90lb weight loss with the tummy tuck and did some abdominal sculpting with the muscle repair. He raised the saggy parts with the mons lift and absolutely snatched my waist with the fleur de lis tummy tuck. I was also very impressed with my breasts, I previously had spiderweb tattoos on them and somehow he was able to keep the tattoos in tact and did not ruin the appearance of them, even with the breast lift and taking skin from the breast. Dr. Higgins is very kind and has great bedside mannerisms, he made me feel safe and comfortable throughout the entire process. He and his team were easy to reach for any questions and concerns I had. Second, the CNA they sent me home with was incredible. Christy from Post Op Pampering went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable during my recovery. There were some very hard days I wouldn’t have been able to get through post surgery if it had not been for her. Christy is very kind and fun to be around, and I felt very safe and comfortable knowing she was helping me during my initial recovery. after your mastopexy
Recovery from breast lift surgery is more lengthy than a breast augmentation. After surgery, you will be fitted with a support bra to minimize swelling. A small tube will also be placed near the surgical area to assist with excess draining that can often occur after a surgery of this nature. How long will my results last?

Factors, like significant weight loss or gain, can change your results so it is best to stay at a steady weight following your breast lift.
